Nick Hollinger loved his stuffed animal so much he kept onto it for 29 years.
And now his 8-month-old baby has the exact same discontinued keepsake thanks to Nick’s mom.
Yep, the super grandma went on a hunt to try and find the exact same toy that was the apple of her son’s eye when she gave it to him 29 years ago.
And surprisingly, she found it!
Much to the excitement of her son, he shared a picture of the new and old toy side-by-side on Reddit with the caption: “On the left is my first (now un)stuffed animal I received for Christmas 29 years ago. On the right, the new Fraffy my mom tracked down to give to my 8-month-old son for his first Christmas. I can’t believe he used to have horns!”
But hunting down this old-school teddy was not easy. Nick’s mom admitted that she got into a couple bidding wars on eBay and spent a solid three months searching the internet to find the exact replica. She won’t reveal how much she spent on the teddy but prices for the cuddly start at $200 (€162).
It is safe to say that both Nick and his son Link are now obsessed with the new “Fraffy” and Nick can’t wait for his son to treasure the toy like he did. Awww.
That will be one cherished gift.
