Westlife’s Markus Feehily and fiancé Cailean welcome a baby girl

Congratulations to Westlife's Markus Feehily, who is now a dad!

He and his fiancé Cailean have welcomed their first child, a baby girl. Markus posted a photo of the couple wheeling their new daughter down a hospital corridor on Instagram this morning to share the happy news. "Baby Layla born safe & sound @ 7.27pm on October 1st 2019!" the Westlife singer wrote. "We’re the happiest Dads in the world!"

Markus and Cailean have been inundated with well wishes from fans and friends. The couple first announced that were expecting a baby via surrogate in May. "It really makes this my most special birthday EVER to let everyone know that later this year we will become Dads for the first time," Markus said at the time. "This is the proudest moment of our lives and we are beyond excited to say it out loud!"

This milestone comes after an exciting year for Markus and his bandmates. Westlife reunited after seven years this year, taking their Twenty Tour to stadiums across Ireland, Europe and Asia over the summer. The band recently announced two gigs for Cork's Pairc Uí Chaoimh for August of 2020.
