“I’ve never told anyone this” – Would you try this controversial trick to get more sleep?

A British podcaster on TikTok has shared her very controversial secret to getting a bit of a sleep in when her baby was young… Would you do it?

Presenter and podcaster Luisa Collins (née Zissman) has shared her best-kept secret for getting a much-needed sleep-in when you have a baby. On her podcast Everything LuAnna, which she co-presents with Anna Williamson, she called her method the “best mum hack ever” and it’s since racked up nearly three million views.

Some parents have agreed with her, saying things like ‘you gotta do what you gotta do’, but some are calling the tactic deceitful and manipulative.

Luisa starts by saying: “I’ve never told anyone this.”

She goes on to explain her hack: “My husband and I came to an arrangement when we had our child that I would do the night feeds and he would wake up around 5:30 am to take our baby girl downstairs for her morning feed, leaving me to get a few hours uninterrupted rest before he starts work.”

But then at around the 10-week mark, her little one dropped those night feeds.

“I had a blissful sleep plus additional sleep-ins most days after telling my husband how AWFUL my night had been and him thanking me for being so quiet as he had no idea it was such a struggle.”

She then admits: “I don’t regret it at all. Ladies, we go through enough – let the men have some of the load!”

So… the big question is, how do you feel about it? Would you do it? Do you think it’s fair?
