As a parent that generally gets woken up at least once every night I find it hard to believe that an overwhelming majority of parents are getting almost nine hours of shut-eye.
Surprisingly, or not as the case may be, the study was conducted by a mattress company. I'm sure they would never be biased with their results right?

The company have put in the fine print that their results included any type of sleep taken over a 24 hour period. This included napping and dozing.
Personally, I think this is a little bit of a cop-out because broken sleep can be as tiring as no sleep. I never feel fully rested after I've been disturbed during sleep.
I think that their finding that most parents are getting the recommended amount of sleep is a big stretch.Explore more on these topics:
