This is the reason babies’ eyes can change colour…

Did your baby have bright blue eyes when they first arrived and then develop darker eyes when they got older? Have you ever wondered why that is?

Well, the good people at Mental Floss have revealed the reason for this in a recent video.

It all comes down to the pigment melanin which is responsible for eye, skin and hair colour.

Babies are born with low levels but these can increase over time – usually happens within the first six months can occur at any time up until the age of three.

The more melanin you have in your eyes, the darker they are. Check out the video below for more information…
