Down Syndrome Centre and K2Alpacas join forces for Halloween fundraiser

Jody Coffey

A fun-filled event for a great cause.

K2Alpacas has partnered up with The Down Syndrome Centre to welcome families and schools this spooky season to their Halloween Pumpkin Patch Event.

Tucked away on the K2Alapacas farm in North Wicklow, the event will be open to all for two weekends in October.

The Halloween Pumpkin Patch event is a fundraiser for the Down Syndrome Centre, which works with a wide range of people with special needs, including children and adults with Down Syndrome.

During the weekends of October 21st and 22nd and October 28th and 30th, the Pumpkin Patch will be open to the public to come and enjoy a range of activities, which include exploring the child-friendly Enchanted Fairy Forest, Halloween selfie-funboards, kids activity boards, meeting the alpacas, the alpaca farm shop, and the Pumpkin Patch, where you get to pick out your own pumpkin.

There will also be a seating area where tea, coffee, hot chocolates, and other goodies will be on sale.

Event organisers are encouraging schools to visit during the week of October 23rd to 27th and have asked that they contact them to make appointments.

The address for K2Alpacas is Callowhill Upper, Newtownmountkennedy, Co Wicklow, A63 DX08, just 40 mins from Dublin’s City Centre and 50 mins from Dublin Airport.

Bookings for the autumnal event and wonderful fundraiser can be made here.

Don’t forget to grab a selfie with an alpaca while you’re there.
