10 Chic Nappy Bag Alternatives for Under €50

Sophie White

One of the key new accessories that every new mum needs is a nice nappy bag. This is the bag that you will lug around with you everywhere for a good two years so treat yourself to one you like.

Personally, I didn’t fancy any of the nappy-specific bags in the baby shops and found that the two ‘non-nappy’ bags I used did the job perfectly.

The key is to identify your needs. For me, I did a lot of walking and, once the baby was big enough, cycling, so I loved the cross-body satchel style for walking (perfect for hanging from the pram handle) and a backpack that was virtually grafted on to me by the end of my maternity leave for cycling. Look for a bag with lots of handy pockets and storage. I also used a small makeup bag inside the bag to carry messier items like nipple cream and vaseline; this kept the whole bag that bit neater. Also, make sure that the straps are not too skinny and will be comfortable to carry for longer periods.
