An image from the JCPenny catalogue was recently posted to Imgur with the caption “Really could’ve picked a better place for that ‘flower’ design…”
The image has been viewed over 200,000 times with many peeps taking to the internet to mercilessly deride the design’s unfortunate resemblance to a period stain.
Twitter users were quick off the mark to mock menstruation chic…
Curious which clothing brand was like “YES! LOVE THE SKIRT THAT LOOKS LIKE A GIRL HAS HER PERIOD.”What the actual F. pic.twitter.com/e60h0XKjDr

Call me the queen of period fashion, but this doesn’t really look like a period skirt. Modern placenta? Yes. pic.twitter.com/KTGUNiySTg

I’m inclined to argue that this skirt could well be the safest way to wear a white pencil shirt for menstruating women.
Perhaps JCPennys intended to do us a service by creating a secure way for women to satisfy their sartorial needs even during menstruation without fear of the dreaded period stain.
I mean at least it’s not on the back, right?
