Call the Midwife fans have been left devastated after a twist in Dr. Turner’s storyline. The heartbreaking plot twist could see the family lose their little girl May.
The Turner’s fostered daughter could be taken away from them after she nearly drowned during a trip to the sea.
The family was left in shock after May was hospitalised days after the incident at the beach.
Her biological mother was worried that the Turners weren’t fit to care for her, but could her concerns cause social services to take her away from them?
“I thought my daughter would be more safe with them, not less,” May’s mother told their social worker.
The Turners just got over nearly losing their daughter in the drowning accident, but now they have to face another loss altogether.
If the social workers take May away from the Turners then viewers will be completely heartbroken. The little girl has become a key member of the family and the Turners just wouldn’t be the same without her.
Viewers were quick to comment on the harrowing plot twist.
One said: “I can’t bear to see Sheilagh suffer!”
“I don’t understand why May’s bio Mom is allowed to get so up into the Turners business with May when they adopted her? Like, the involvement right now seems so wrong,” another said.
“Fred Buckle one week and little May this week. I can’t take it! Poor Shelia and Dr. Turner,” another said.
Next week’s episode sees Cyril battle with his new job, as well as Matthew and Trixie face marriage struggles.
The synopsis reads: ‘In his new role, Cyril faces his toughest challenge yet, whilst Matthew is summoned to a board meeting with his mother. Elsewhere, the pupil midwives prepare for their final exams.’
Call the Midwife continues next Sunday at 8 pm on BBC 1.
