David Beckham has been criticised for the way he kisses his children on the lips.
Many people find it strange how he shows affection to his kids by kissing them on the lips but he had the perfect defence.
David Beckham recently addressed the backlash and explained why he does this.
As most already know, David shares four children with his wife Victoria Beckham. They have three sons – Brooklyn, 24, Romeo, 20, and Cruz, 18, and one daughter named Harper who is 11 years old.
Dad Beckham often shares photos of him kissing his daughter Harper on the lips.
While many disagree with this parenting style, David defended his actions and said that is how he and his family show love to each other and that it’s perfectly normal.
Speaking in a Facebook Live interview, he said: “We want to show our kids love. I got criticised for kissing my daughter on the lips the other day. I kiss all my kids on the lips.”
The former Manchester United player added: “Brooklyn, maybe not. Brooklyn’s 18, he might find that a little bit strange.
“But I’m very affectionate with the kids. It’s how I was brought up and Victoria, and it’s how we are with our children.
“We want to show our kids love and we protect them, look after them, and support them, and you know, we’re very affectionate with them.”
Big names like Jamie Oliver, Gino D’Acampo, and Hilary Duff have also adopted this style of parenting.
However, some experts have said that kissing children on the lips can have a negative effect on their development.
