Shocking CCTV footage released this week shows every parent’s worst nightmare. In the footage, a mother and child stand on the platform of a train station in Brisbane close to her parked pram which was mercifully empty.
As a train moves through the station, the pram is sucked into the train’s path. It is a vivid and shocking reminder of how attentive we, parents, must be at all times.
‘It’s a sobering reminder of the importance of being vigilant at stations and on platforms, especially when travelling with children and objects such as prams,” said Greg Fill, the Queensland Rail General Manager for Safety, Assurance and Environment.
The pram was severely damaged and thankfully the flying debris didn’t cause any injury to other train users.
