Ed Stewart died

Dad-of-three Ed Stewart has sadly lost his battle with cancer.

In a heartbreaking scenario, Karen (36) and Ed (42) Stewart, the parents of Keeva (10), Finn (8) and Erin (4) were both diagnosed with incurable cancer.

Now, the sad news has broken that Ed lost his fight with pancreatic cancer yesterday. The hugely popular Donaghmede dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer in May of this year, after initially putting his chest pains and nausea down to stress and heart problems.

Ed’s wife Karen was also diagnosed with cancer when she was just 20 years of age and, in January, received the heartbreaking news that the disease is now incurable.

Friends of the family set up a Gofundme page in order to support the couple and their three young children, raising in excess of €35k.

Ed will be laid to rest on Tuesday morning in the Church of the Holy Trinity, Donaghmede followed by burial in Fingal Cemetery. The Stewart family have requested donations be made to the St Francis Hospice in Raheny, in lieu of flowers.
