Call the Midwife never fails to remind us of what really matters
It’s nearly been a week since the latest episode of ‘Call the Midwife’ aired, but Fred’s storyline has been on a loop in my head ever since.
The show always manages to teach us something valuable whether that’s about women’s health, being a mother, or a life lesson we failed to acknowledge.
Last week’s episode left viewers feeling pretty overwhelmed after Fred’s life was put in danger.
I watch ‘Call the Midwife’ every Sunday evening with my Mam and we both sobbed on the sofa after it ended.
Seeing Violet and Reggie panic and fret over Fred’s health after he contracted tetanus was devastating.
It took me back to times when I’ve been the one waiting in the hospital for news about a loved one. It really struck a chord, but it also taught me something so valuable.
Fred, Violet, and Reggie reminded me of just how important family is. The scene of them gathering around Fred’s hospital bed after Reggie surprised him with tea from the cafe was the perfect sign of appreciating the little things with the people you love because sometimes we tend to neglect that.
Call the Midwife helped me see that life is fleeting and the time we get with our loved ones is often too short so we need to make the most of every second.
Call the Midwife continues next Sunday on BBC 1 at 8:00 pm.
