Mum-shaming is something we feel very strongly about and it’s frustrating to see that it’s still happening, despite the many pleas for it to end.
The latest celebrity to receive criticism for how she parents her children is Jessica Simpson, after the mum of two posted a Halloween photo of her family in costume.
Jessica and her husband, Eric Johnson, went as country music duo, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson, while son Ace was a cowboy and daughter Maxwell decided to dress as Belle from Beauty and the Beast.
All very cute and sweet but some of Jessica’s followers took issue with the fact that Maxwell’s hair appeared to have changed colour to match her outfit.
There were a number of comments criticising the colour change, suggesting that Maxwell is too young for hair dye.
However, other followers have said it’s not a big deal as it’s “probably a wash off” which won’t last very long.
One user wrote:
“It’s a Halloween costume and she’s going as Belle. Belle has brown hair. It’s not that serious. It’s probably a wash off. So dramatic”.
Another said:
“You shamers really need to get a life!! There’s some truly horrific stuff going on in this world but you are going nuts over a bit of hair dye. For crying out loud!!”.
Whether it is a wash-off or a different type of hair colour, it’s entirely Jessica’s decision and as some Instagram users have pointed out it really isn’t of anyone else’s concern.
