Uggs are expensive, so the longer they last, the better
Uggs are once again a staple in the wardrobes of kids and adults.
However, keeping them clean is tricky during the wet weather and can feel like an impossible task as the cosy footwear does not react well to rain and puddles.
When Uggs get dirty or wet, they can become worn and aged-looking very quickly — but one woman has revealed a quick reverse method that will bring them back to their former glory.
Taking to the Hinch Army Cleaning Tips Facebook group, Phoebe Waites shared the cost-effective cleaning hack to keep your boots clean no matter what weather we have.
The before and after of the shoes is undeniable, although Phoebe still reassured people that they were not ‘photoshopped’.
“From seeing the posts about cleaning Ugg boots, I thought I would attempt to bring mine back to life. I am so happy with the result!” she wrote.
The Uggs Cleaning Method
Phoebe began by stuffing the inside of each Ugg boot with newspaper to ‘reshape’ before spraying white vinegar spray all over the whole boot’s suede.
She then used a small scrubbing brush to ‘gently’ brush the suede in’strokes and light circles’.
Next, Phoebe used a damp cloth to blot the suede to ‘remove any excess dirt and vinegar’ before placing the Uggs underneath a radiator to dry out.
For the final step, when the boots had dried, she gave them one more brush.
This cleaning hack saw Phoebe using Stardrops White Vinegar Spray.
This is a lifesaver, especially for parents of kids who enjoy running or jumping in puddles!
