It makes sense!

One mum has found a loophole when it comes to making sure her toddler is happy on Christmas Day – without the added finance of buying tonnes of toys.

In fact, this trick will mean the mum will not have to visit any toystore when shopping for her one-year-old.

Influencer Karissa Stevens, who posts on TikTok under the handle @karissastevens_, often shares parenting and lifestyle clips with her 566,000 followers.

She recently shared a video where she revealed her plan for Christmas shopping for her daughter, Kennedy, as there is something that she knows her toddler would love even more than any store-bought toy.

“If there’s something that I’ve learned since becoming a parent, it’s that there’s nothing my kid loves more than things that aren’t hers.”

The clip shows her daughter happily playing with a red silicone whisk.

“Exhibit A: she’ll play with this all day. It’s a good thing I got a two-pack on Amazon. She loves her whisk.”

Noticing her daughter’s joy in playing with the silicone baking whisk, Karissa says she had a ‘magical idea’ for gifting this Christmas.

“I’m not going to buy toys – I’m going to do baking as a theme and get her a ton of rubber utensils because she loves them.”

Many other parents loved the idea, as well as plenty of mums and dads admitting they do the same thing for their little ones.

“I bought these for my three-year-old. She uses them with her play kitchen and with play dough,” one wrote.

“My little is same age as yours and obsessed with the whisk, measuring cups she has her own cabinet in the kitchen with a bunch of utensils,” another added.

“my son loved all the kitchen things he played with them over any of his toys good idea for her for Christmas,” a third commented.

“I did this with my first daughter. She still uses some if the stuff now 3 years later,” one parent shared.

“That’s such a good idea, it’s almost like kids playing with the boxes rather than the toys, lol,” another user added.
