Take Our Valentine’s Day Poll!

Sharyn Hayden

Gone are the days when I would be raging, RAGING, if I didn’t get something nice for Valentine’s Day.

I’m not talking diamonds (although they would have been nice too) or anything too high-maintenance, but just, you know, attention.

Maybe a nice card, a l’il bunch of flowers and a meal that required the wearing of a nice frock.

Of course, I didn’t always get all (or any!) of those things over the years, but my Valentine’s requirements have completely shifted since I had kids.

The biggest change for my partner and I is that we have now plan something with the kids, as opposed to on our own because we love them just as much – if not more – than each other, right?

The other thing is that I literally am not arsed on any level if Alan buys me a card or not. I don’t care about chocolates, the flowers will wilt and the money spent at a restaurant is needed for the ESB bill.

But a lie-in? Nothing says ‘I love you’ like a lie-in for the mother of your children. Make it happen, menfolk!

Ladies – take our Valentines poll. It’s a tough one!
