This Hollywood actress will make you feel better about your toddler’s fussy eating

Sive O'Brien

As the mum of a toddler, I know how soul destroying it can be when the wonderfully colourful and nutritious homemade feast you spent time and effort lovingly creating is rejected in favour of a piece of bread. But at least we’re in good company.

Reese Witherspoon recently confessed on a late-night talk show that her two-year-old son “doesn’t eat” and likened him to a demanding medieval king. The actress and mum said on Conan that she has “no idea how he is still alive” because all he consumes is “white bread, ketchup and milk”.

To try and combat the fussy eating, Reese makes her toddler creative breakfasts; however, when she presents “these cute little things” he shouts, “No! I don’t like it!”

It’s refreshing to hear a Hollywood mum be so open and honest about parenthood and food. We’re sure that despite joking about it, she finds dealing with a fussy eater as frustrating as the rest of us.

Below are a couple of her inventive dishes that she has posted to Instagram.
