Christmas FM

It’s time to ‘Switch On Christmas’ for 2023!

From midday tomorrow (November 28th), Christmas FM will be back on the airwaves as our favourite seasonal station returns for the 16th year.

There will be two very special helpers on hand at the Christmas FM studio as competition winners, five-year-old twins, Ben and Louis McPhillips from Mullingar, will travel to Dublin to do the honour of ‘switching on’ Christmas.

The beloved station serves as the official beginning of the Christmas season for many as it plays round-the-clock festive hits from Christmas carols, the classics to the brand-new.

The likes of Mariah Carey, Frank Sinatra, Michael Bublé, Bing Crosby, Slade (and many more) are known for heavily featuring on the station’s festive party playlist on the countdown to Christmas Day.

‘The Magic of Christmas’

Christmas FM is presented by up to 100 volunteers every year who generously donate their skills and time.

The station also continues its ‘Magic of Christmas‘ appeal again this year, which helps to raise vital funds for Barnardos, Barretstown, Make-A-Wish Ireland, and a range of children’s charities around Ireland making a difference in local communities through Community Foundation Ireland.

In 2022, ‘The Magic of Christmas’ raised almost €300,000 for the charities and the fundraising initiative is hoping to raise over €1,000,000 between 2022 and 2024 for Ireland’s Children’s charities.

Donating to ‘The Magic of Christmas’ will give the gift of childhood to those who need it the most.
