A major source of frustration.
Stay at home mums will know just how irritating it is when people imply that your job isn’t as tiring as others when in fact it’s one of the toughest roles going.
Enter Dale Patterson, a dad who’s on a one-man mission to ensure that every stay at home mom gets the rest she deserves and we happen to think this is worth shouting about.
Dale penned a Facebook post which has over 73,000 shares where he said that men often ‘steal rest’ from their wives and it’s just not on.
He makes the point that just because you work outside the home doesn’t automatically entitle you to more rest and we applaud his thinking.

“She spends all week serving me and the kids. I spend all week serving the bills. Most men think it’s a fair trade, but I doubt it. Husbands, we are no more entitled to a restful weekend than our wives. The badge of “breadwinner” doesn’t authorize us to escape our home duties come Saturday and Sunday. The luxury of rest is a gift many men steal from their wives each weekend.
Remember, the 40-hour work week is a cultural standard, but God tells us to share our wive’s burdens and protect her from strain. It’s okay to rest, God even commands it, just make sure you’re not the only one doing it. #DaleyWisdom”.
Here’s hoping Dale’s way of thinking catches on. Who knows, you might even get a lie-in this weekend…
