Dry shampoo addict, mama? You NEED this DIY hair mask in your life

If you’re addicted to dry shampoo then you’re not alone.

In fact, show me a mum who isn’t and I’ll go for a week without touching the stuff. (Don’t hold me to that though.)

Convenient and effective, dry shampoo has helped me out on MANY bad hair days; however, using it regularly and over a long period of time doesn’t support hair in the long term.

That doesn’t mean we have to kick the habit to the curb though. Using a DIY hair mask of baking soda and water a couple of times a week will help get rid of build up from all those nasty ingredients, leaving your tresses looking and feeling a whole lot healthier and happier.

Here’s how to support your locks in the long term…

Mix one part baking soda with three parts water. For example, if you have shoulder length hair, mix two tablespoons of baking soda with three times that amount of water. Then, starting at the roots, massage the paste onto wet hair, and leave for three minutes before rinsing with warm water.

To make the cleansing treatment even more effective, you could apply a vinegar rinse afterwards. To do this, mix one part apple cider vinegar with four parts water, then distribute through hair. Rinse with cold water after a few seconds. You can also add a drop of essential oil (lavender or peppermint works well) to minimise the vinegar smell.
