If you do crave them, be safe and cook them first in the oven or on the frying pan.
Deli Meat
You may find yourself dying for a sandwich at lunchtime or maybe even at midnight when you have a little one on the way.
But if you are grabbing one over the counter in your local shop, don’t go for deli meat.
The sliced meat contains listeria bacteria that can cause food poisoning, and that's the last thing you want.
Some brands that supply deli food do spray it with additives that hinders listeria, but mamas-to-be are still prone to contracting it even with the spray.
Mercury-rich fish
So raw fish is obviously a no-no when you are expecting, but so is fish that's high in mercury. It can be harmful to your baby’s nervous system and brain.
This means avoiding king mackerel, swordfish and bigeye tuna.
