This fab River Island suit is ideal for communion and confirmation season

Is getting an outfit for a wedding or communion that's still months away  giving you mild anxiety?

You're not alone. There's something about dressing oneself for a special occasion that fills lots of us with dread. Buying a new outfit should be fun so why does planning a trip to the shops feel like scheduling a dental appointment? Well, it kind of feels like a high stakes situation. You want to look your best and, if possible, not look like the odd one out alongside your very glam cousins/ sisters/ friends in the photos on the day. Your outfit also has to be appropriate for the occasion and comfy enough that you can last a long day in it. On top of that, you're probably going to part with a good chunk of cash for an outfit you really love so you want to make a good decision. The outfit stress is real. It's for all of those reasons that we reckon you can't go too far wrong with a suit.

A well-cut blazer and trousers will tick all of your boxes and can be worn as separates again and again - it's a no-brainer. We're particularly enamoured with this River Island printed suit that we've been seeing all over Instagram.

This is smart enough that you could dress it up for the races, a wedding or night out but still casual enough for day-to-day wear with runners. The wide-leg trousers are currently only available in petite sizes (and have just been reduced) but the blazer is still there in petite, regular and plus sizes, so what are you waiting for?
