Typically it is hard to achieve a natural look with blusher. Many women don’t even bother with it at all because they just can’t get it right and look a little more Gigi the clown than Gigi Hadid.
Interestingly, Global Educating Artist for Marc Jacobs Beauty Yvonne MacInnis has a very simple, surprising trick to get the colour right.
Yvonne claims that the colour on the inside of your bottom lip is the colour you should be wearing on your cheeks.
“Take a peek at the inside of your bottom lip. This colour, which is different on everyone, is a great guideline to what color ‘exists’ organically in each individual skin tone organically,” She told Bustle.
She advises finding a blusher tone that matches the inside of your lip. Pull your lip down with your finger, the inner lip, which usually rests against the teeth is where you should match the colour with.
Some people will have quite a warm red tone while others will have a lighter peach tone on the skin there.
Just be warned, though – you will look like a total weirdo in Boots when you start pulling your lip down and matching it to different shades but nobody ever said the path to perfection would be easy!
