Consumers in Ireland are being advised to bin a specific brand of airplane toy for kids due to a choking hazard posed by the product.
The Competitions and Consumer Protection Commission issued the safety notice this week after identifying an issue with the airplane toy sold on the eBay platform.
Officials warned: “The product presents a risk of choking as the battery compartment on the toy is not secured with a screw.
“If a child were to play with the toy the batteries may fall out and the child may choke on them if ingested.”
The eBay item number is 165979781982. The carton numbers are SKU G340-TY0499, RVG340-230223-0001-3, D1193439.
The brand, model number, batch number and the barcode are unknown.
Given the online availability of this product on the eBay platform, it may have been sold to customers in the Republic of Ireland.
What to do:
If you purchased one of these products, you should discontinue use immediately and keep it out of the reach of children.
If you want to contact the eBay seller to see if there are any remedies available to you, you can do this via your user account on the eBay platform.
