Parents are being warned to stop using the recalled products
Dunnes Stores has issued an urgent recall for thousands of children’s products as they pose a potential risk of drowning.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has marked the Dunnes Kids’ Swim Jacket as unsafe.
Safety bosses have advised parents to stop using the product immediately and keep them out of reach of children.
It is estimated that a total of 1,237 life jackets were sold in the Republic of Ireland.

Safety issues with the product have been associated with the seams of the garment, as they are at risk of separating and therefore reducing/releasing buoyancy, creating the risk of submersion underwater and drowning.
The CCPC has urged parents who have purchased one of the Kids’ Swim Jackets to discontinue use and return the product to their local Dunnes Stores for a full refund.
The implicated products have the model number 3248157, while the batch number is 230515.
The bar codes are 5099014540546 / 5099014540539 / 5099014540522.
