Unfortunately, head lice is part and parcel of parenthood
While no parent enjoys the sight of lice in their child’s hair, learning how to effectively get rid of them is part of the job.
Tea tree and lavender oils have been known to eradicate the pesky mites from hair while Benzyl alcohol and vinegar can also rid them for good.
However, mum-of-three, Dani Dyer, has a much more straightforward solution when it comes to taking on nits.
The Love Island alum, who writes a column for Netmums sharing parenting and relationship advice, admits that she has caught head lice from her children.
This experience meant she and her child needed treatment for hair lice, which was very important given Dani’s severe aversion to them from childhood.
A reader of her Ask Dani column asked: “I’ve caught nits from my kids. Is it okay that I still went to work but didn’t tell anyone?!”
To this, the social media personality replied:
“Honestly nits give me the horrors! I think I’m still scarred from getting them constantly when I was at school!”
Dani says she had a one-stop-shop solution to ensuring head lice stay gone, one that she learned from her own mum.
“In the end my mum used to do my hair in tight plaits with the nit shampoo in it haha. Just make sure that you’re well rid of them before you go back to work again.
“And I think in this situation what they don’t know won’t hurt them LOL!”
The TV personality shares her son, Santiago, with her ex-partner, Sammy Kimmence, and identical twin girls, Summer and Star, whom she welcomed with her boyfriend Jarrod Bown.
