Mum rejects the ‘worst’ baby name ever but her husband thinks it’s unique

Is this baby name really that bad?

A mum has rejected the ‘worst’ baby name that her husband suggested, but is it really that bad?

The mum opened up about the difficulty of finding a name both you and your partner love. She explained to Reddit that she’s pregnant with their first child, but things have gotten complicated since they discovered they were expecting a daughter.

Before they found out the gender, the woman and her husband immediately agreed that they’d call their child Stuart Jr. if he was a boy.

“No problem there, it’s a classic name and carries family meaning. But, for a girl, things got murky.

“My husband suggested Stuarta. No, you’re not having a stroke. Apparently, his logic is that since Stuart ends in “t,” we can just add an “a” to make it feminine.”

The mum said the name sounds like a furniture brand rather than a name for a baby girl.

“She’d be endlessly correcting people and explaining its origin. He’s adamant though, says it “honours” him while giving our daughter a unique name.”

The mum has suggested alternative names that sound similar, but the dad-to-be is fixated on Stuarta.

She said she loves her husband dearly but she believes they’ll be subjecting their child “to a lifetime of awkward stares and endless questions about her unusual name”.

Not only is the mum worried about the impact it will have on her, but she also fears she could be bullied over the strange name.

Reddit users agreed that the mum was completely right and should not agree with her husband on this one.

One user said: “For the sake of your daughter, stand your ground on this one.”

“The name is absurd and will set her up for bullying,” another wrote.

One added: “All of our kids have had names by the time we need one for the birth certificate. Y’all will get there. It is just really hard.”
