Mum Delivers a 12 Pound Baby in UNDER An Hour

12-pound baby Lilah Grace Simmonds apparently gave her mum hardly any hassle in the delivery room when she made her entrance last Friday.

Weighing in as much as the average 3-month-old, Lilah Grace appearance prompted the attending midwife to exclaim upon clapping eyes on the new baby: “look at those chubby cheeks”.

25-year-old mum, Emma from Bridgend, Wales, laboured with just gas and air for approximately 45 minutes before delivering her first child.

Emma’s partner, Michael (22) proudly told Wales Online:

“The midwife said they only get a baby that size about once every three years and normally by C-section, not natural birth.”

“They just couldn’t believe it and all the nurses started coming over to see Lilah because of her size.”

Apparently, even random passing patients and their families were ducking in for a peep at the jumbo baba.

“People were coming up to us asking if she was ‘the big baby’. Everyone was waiting to have a look,” explained Michael.

Lilah was born eight days after her due date.

Despite the baby’s size, Emma was very positive about her birth, saying “It was all over so quickly. It only lasted around 45 minutes, and I don’t think I even had time to feel the pain.”

“Emma is a really laidback person, and she didn’t really have a birth plan, she was just going with the flow,” Michael added.

The mum even danced around the delivery room during her labour to encourage the baby down.

With a tall mum and dad, it’s hardly surprising that Lilah Grace, whose nicknames are Pineapple and Grany Smith – named for Emma’s pregnancy cravings, is a big baby.

Apparently, she even sleeps nine hours a night!

“She’s the perfect baby. She sleeps nine hours straight, and she just doesn’t cry.”

Congratulations to this proud pair and their big bundle of joy.
