“When I first said I was expecting I got loads of abuse, people that aren’t even in this country were sending me messages over the internet (...) 'All I can do is try to ignore it all and keep Trinity-Leigh safe."https://twitter.com/TheSun/status/883815709645697024 Cross says that he was sent messages such as "Someone should get rid of this guy," and "you're lucky I don't see you." Some of the messages came from as far away as Australia and India. Although he shut down his accounts, Cross says that the threats did not scare him, and that he wanted to focus on bringing up his new baby girl.
“I have the best thing in the world now – they only have hate.”https://twitter.com/TheSun/status/883429101008293891 Cross became pregnant using an anonymous sperm donor he found through Facebook after the NHS told him they would not freeze his eggs. He is now reported to be the second British man to become pregnant after 23 year old Scott Parker gave birth to baby girl Sara at the end of April. Cross has revealed his decision not to bring up his daughter as gender neutral. He says that he would of course support Trinity-Leigh if she was trans too, but says that just because he is trans, doesn't mean that she will be.
"Obviously I know what it is like so I could understand (...) I just want her to be happy and content in who she is."
