Parents forget 3-year-old in lay-by, drive 150Km before noticing

Sophie White

According to the Guardian, a family driving through France drove 150km before realising that they had left their 3-year-old child behind in a lay-by.

They were making their way to the French Riviera for a holiday at the time. Thankfully other tourists found the child in the rest area on the A7 motorway and raised the alarm.

An announcement was put out on French radio and the family hotfooted it back to the lay-by, presumably with tail MAJORLY between legs.

So the question that’s plagued me since having my son: “am I the worst parent ever?” has been answered it seems.

The family, who are French, are being questioned by police over the incident.

“We are going to listen to what they have to say and talk to the prosecutor at Valence to see if this should be taken further,” the officer told reporters.
