WATCH: Sweet Video Shows Twin Boys Formerly Conjoined Smiling And Saying “Dada”

Their parents had feared the twin boys wouldn’t survive to celebrate Christmas. 

Now, in the latest video posted by their mum to Facebook, Anias and Jadon McDonald, snuggle and smile and say “Dada.”

Surgeons successfully separated the 16 month old twins in October after they were born with a rare condition known as craniopagus twins.

The boys, from Chicago, were joined at the crown of the head.  Their parents, Nicole and Christian McDonald, insisted they were perfect just as they were but decided to go ahead with the risky operation in a bid to give the boys a better quality of life.

Mum, Nicole has been updating people on their progress through social media. They bid an emotional farewell to the hospital in the past few days and are now recovering in a rehab facility.

The twins can now breathe on their own. They eat, and play together. Anias had a slower recovery than his brother because doctors had to remove part of his skull.

Their surgeon, Dr Philip Goodrich, has said he feels the brothers are a force of energy for each other.

This is clear in this latest video which shows the boys looking happy and relaxed:
