Coffee Grounds clean

Coffee is honestly the answer to all of our problems

Many of us have sat down for a cup of coffee after a good clean, but have we ever used coffee during our spring cleaning?

The answer is likely no.

Understandably, coffee doesn’t enter our thoughts when we’re pulling out supplies to give the house a scrub, but maybe it should be.

Cleaning experts at Online-Bedrooms.co.uk believe that coffee grounds could be the secret cleaning product we’ve all been sleeping on.

Not only are its grounds, when combined with the right ingredients, perfect for removing scratches and cleaning messes, but they can be a great solution for neutralising bad odours.

Wooden Furniture

If your kids tend to leave scuffs on hallway cabinets, desks, tables, and wardrobes, this coffee hack one will be a godsend.

Its grounds combined with water or oil into a thick paste can help rid wooden furniture of scratches.

Simply apply the mixture and leave it for 15 minutes.

After, wipe the area and buff the wood dry.

Oven

When coffee grounds are mixed with a small amount of water into a thick paste, it can be applied to the surfaces of an oven to remove stains and grease build up.

Let the mixture sit for 30 minutes before wiping clean with a damp cloth.

If the inside of your oven has a coffee scent, turn it on for 20 minutes at 100°C.

That is, unless, you like the smell of hot coffee in your kitchen.

Pots and pans

Have you got pots and pans that have stubborn oil or grease stains that you just can’t clean? Who am I kidding, we all do.

Luckily, coffee grounds are a natural exfoliator thanks to their coarse texture, so they will help bring them back to life with a little less elbow grease.

Just add a tablespoon of grounds and scrub away with a soft sponge.

Carpet cleaner

Did you know coffee can be a natural deodoriser?

Any carpets or rugs with bad smells may benefit from a generous sprinkle of dry grounds.

Allow to sit for several hours and then vacuum up.

Grout cleaner

Cleaning grout is a job that nobody wants to do. Unfortunately, coffee isn’t going to take all of the work out of it for you, but it can help.

Mix up a thick paste of some grounds and water and get to work with an old toothbrush on the grout on the tiles of your kitchen or bathroom.

The abrasive texture of coffee is effective in lifting the dirt, making this dreaded task a little easier to bear.
