Sarah Michelle Gellar found herself in the middle of a mum-shaming storm after she went for a manicure with her five-year-old son.
The Buffy the Vampire Slayer star shared a series of photos during a family day out over the holiday season.
The pictures show the family – including her 8-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son – taking a trip to the nail salon, where the little boy got a manicure that matched his mum.
The images started a huge debate on social media after the story was first shared by Mic.
People took to the comments on the outlet’s Facebook page to offer the mum and her husband Freddie Prinze Jnr advice on how to “raise men“.
One commenter said:
“Really who puts nail polish on boys fingernails?”
Someone else commented:
“5 years old…..you’re brainwashing this kids with your sick ideologies.”
Another person wrote:
“He needs band-aids on the ends of his fingers, from his Dad teaching him how work on a car, fish, hunt, and farm…”

Meanwhile, others praised the actress for sharing the photos – and their own experiences bringing their little ones for manicures.
