Mother thanks airline for help with son who has autism

HerFamily

A mother has written a heartfelt ‘thank you’ note to the airline who helped her with her son who has autism.

Shelley Baudoux called out Jetstar Australia on Facebook after they went over and beyond what was expected of them.

Shelley and her two children – including 10-year-old Corey – went to board a flight from Melbourne to Launceston when he refused to get on the plane. They were making the journey to see a family member.

When they missed their first flight, Jetstar organised an alternative flight for them. When they missed that one, they gave her a full refund.

She explained in the post: “They didn’t rush us, gave us plenty of time to talk him through it and were there every step of the way for me, my daughter and my son… I was totally blown away with their understanding, help and encouragement…”

Dear Jetstar….I wanted to express my utmost appreciation and gratitude to your Melbourne staff I dealt with…

Shelley and her daughter are now planning to make the trip another time to which Jetstar reportedly responded: “I’m glad to see that you and your daughter will still be travelling with us.

“If you could send us through a PM with your postal address, we’d love to send something through to Corey since he didn’t get to travel with us.”

It’s not often you hear about service like this!
