Prince William Is Being Applauded By Experts For Using THIS Genius Parenting Trick

Trine Jensen-Burke

If you (like us) spend a fair bit of time pouring over adorable pictures of little George of Cambridge and his beautiful family, you might already have noticed this very trick – without even knowing that it was one.

Look again, see how Prince William often kneels down while talking to his son:

He did it at a polo match for charity …

He did it at Princess Charlotte’s christening …

… and he even did it with President Obama during a presidential visit to Kensington Palace:

It might not look like a big deal, but actually, according to the experts, the Duke of Cambridge’s squatting trick is one we should all be stealing.

Why, you say? Well, when you (and the Duke of Cambridge) crouch down to a toddler or child’s own level, you get to look into their eyes. And according to People magazine, experts consider this to be an “active listening” technique, and it can help children feel like what they’re saying really matters to their parents.

In fact, child development expert Gill Connel writes in A Moving Child Is a Learning Child that William’s gesture can “foster self-esteem in powerful ways while encouraging his children to communicate even more.”

How cute is that? A royally approved way to engage with your littles!
