If you’re soon to give birth, you’re likely in the stages of getting your hospital bag prepped.

When doing so, there is one product that a new mum swears was a ‘game-changer’ for her when she went into labour.

While we are in the depths of winter weather, TikTok user, Cass Olive (@cassolive) says a cooling fan helped to ease her anxiety and served as a ‘comfort blanket’ before she welcomed her little girl.

All mums know that giving birth can trigger a whole new level of anxiety, something which the new mum felt ten-fold.

“If you’re pregnant and struggle with anxiety, this one is for you,” Cass began.

“I gave birth a couple of weeks ago and my anxiety was through the roof. Of course, I was nervous about giving birth, but I was super nervous that something would happen to her. I have really bad health anxiety.

“I’m going to show you the one product that completely changed the game for me. This little gadget right here: game-changer,” Cass adds, while pointing to a stroller fan.

Many wards where women give birth are warm because babies can lose heat quickly once they’ve been born, according to Tommys.org.

Because things can heat up during labour, a fan is always a wise choice to help keep an expectant mum’s temperature down.

“Something about the cool air blowing at me, blowing in my face, it just calmed me down. I cannot even explain it,” she continued.

“A lot of people love it just for the hot flashes you feel during labour but it was such an anxiety relief for me. It became my comfort blanket. I had to have it on me at all times.

“It’s a stroller fan. After you give birth, you get to use it on your stroller.”

Many users in the comments section agreed that having a cooling fan while in labour was a great idea, with some saying the did the same thing.

“I call it my emotional support fan,” one user wrote.

“I had it the whole time I was pregnant, and still,” another shared.

“Cool air is such a sensory thing for me as well,” a third user added.

“yess! heat always increases my anxiety. On a plane, I need the air blasting on me at all times,” another user confessed.

While one mum shared that they regretted not employing the use of a fan during labour.

“Yes! I was induced on 8/30 and I ended up not getin a fan and I regretted it BIG TIME! Got 1 way later but after that epidural hit I was so hot n sick,” they wrote.
