Parents are ‘dad-shaming’ Andy Cohen for how he swaddled his newborn son

Everyone has an opinion.

No-one thinks they know best quite like other parents on the internet.

Andy Cohen is learning that after sharing a new photo of his two-week-old son yesterday,

The US TV host posted an image of his newborn Benjamin Allen lying in his cot to Instagram with the caption “Swaddled up”.

The sweet snap garnered over 385,000 likes but not everyone was happy.

Some fellow parents complained that he’d swaddled the baby too tightly, others said that a baby shouldn’t be swaddled at all and others old him he had too much stuff in the cot.

“Maybe just the picture but looks like swaddling is too tight.”

“No Andy let Ben be free to move around! He has been in a cramped space for the past few months.”

“How’s he suppose to stretch and get comfy all wrapped up like that!?!?”

“Get some crib bumper pads please.”

One mum summed it up well when she wrote, “Honestly I think the hardest thing about having kids is dealing with some kids parents and all their opinions.”

Swaddling is widely recommended for warmth and helping a baby to feel secure.

It can also calm them and keep them from being startled by their own reflexes.

Andy announced earlier this month that he’d become a father after welcoming little Benjamin with the help of a surrogate.

“I’m in love. And speechless. And eternally grateful to an incredible surrogate. And I’m a dad. Wow,” he wrote in an Instagram post.
