A stranger gave this toddler $20 for the sweetest and saddest reason

Ah, god.

Ah, stop.

While shopping with his mum at Target, toddler Owen was given $20 by a stranger to buy some toy dinosaurs.

But this wasn’t just any stranger, and Owen isn’t just any toddler.

According to mum Alyssa, her son likes to say hello and goodbye to people he doesn’t know very well when the family are out and about.

Standard toddler behaviour.

When the pair were shopping in Target recently, Owen picked up a range of toy dinosaurs because he couldn’t decide which one he wanted.

While he was doing that, he turned to an elderly man and said hi.

The man in question said “hey sweet boy,” and handed Owen $20 to buy all the dinosaurs he wanted, before saying that he lost his own two-year-old grandson last week.

The old man then walked away crying.

Too much.

Alyssa shared her story on Facebook and has since gained over 182,000 likes on the post.

It’s also been shared over 15,000 times – and honestly, we’re not surprised.

It’s super adorable, touching, and sad and, as Alyssa says herself, proves that there is still “good in the world.”
