These healthy snacks are a great way to sneak in some extra veggies for the kids

Sometimes it can be a battle to get the kids eating more veggies, but we’ve found a way to make life easier.

Here on HerFamily, we have shared plenty of healthy snack recipes on the site before, but sometimes it’s handy to pop something quick in the oven and be done.

Kids can be prone to declaring they are super hungry and need a snack right this minute.

Mums, if this is a recurrent issue for you but you’re trying to keep the kids eating healthily, we’ve spotted some great new food products.

These two frozen veggie foods taste delicious and take no time at all to cook.

The Cauliflower Hash Browns and Broccoli and Purple Carrot Bites from STRONG ROOTS make ideal tasty snacks for kids (and mums too!)

The hash browns contain all natural ingredients and only take around 15 minutes in the oven. Similarly, the bites take around the same time to cook and are low in saturated fat and high in fibre.

You can usually pick them up in  Dunnes Stores, SuperValu, Tesco and a host of independent retailers.

If you’re looking for more of a dinner option, the range also includes burgers in a choice of Kale and Quinoa, Pumpkin and Spinach or Beetroot and Bean, and sides of Oven Baked Sweet Potato, Garlic Roasted Sweet Potato, Mixed Root Vegetable Fries and Spinach Bites.

Delicious and a great way to sneak in those extra veggies. With celebrities like Alicia Silverstone claiming a vegan diet has improved her children’s health, getting those extra vitamins and minerals in certainly can’t hurt.

And if you’re trying to establish healthy eating patterns for your children, check out these three easy ways to do just that.
