new cookbooks 2019

I don’t know about you, but I am obsessed with cookbooks.

At this stage, I have a rather large collection of them.

Baking, batch cooking, vegetarian, vegan, pasta, poultry, I love them all, and have been known to read cookbooks like other people would devour the latest thriller or romance novel.

And from time to time, I also actually cook recipes from them too!

If you have a foodie on your list this Christmas, you are not going to go wrong with any of the below new titles, all equally inspiring and beautifully made, making them perfect for both the kitchen and your coffee table:

1. Pasta Grannies

Inspired by the hugely popular YouTube channel of the same name, Pasta Grannies is an amazing collection of time-perfected Italian recipes from the people who have spent a lifetime cooking for love, not a living: Italian grandmothers.

The book holds over 80 delicious and easy recipes from all over Italy, teaching you how to make proper pasta – the proper Italian ‘nonna’ way.

2. Clever Batch

Batch cooking will save you time, money and stress, and in this gorgeous book, Susan Jane White shows you just how to get started – and how to keep it up.

You will learn how to eat well all week – with minimum stress and fuss, meaning you’ll have more time for all the other things in your life. Prepare to be completely batch hooked by the end of this book!

3. Whole by Natural Harry

Whole is a beautiful, down-to-earth, plant-based book filled with whole, satisfying home recipes with a modern twist. A true advocate of her healthy, Australian, beachy lifestyle, Harriet Birrell is all about enjoying the abundance of whole food available and preparing it in a way that is easy and tasty.

Expect to find breakfasts, brunches, dinners and the tastiest desserts – all completely plant-based and even good for you!

4. Greenfeast

In this gorgeous book, Nigel Slater shared over 110 warming and sustaining recipes featuring the very best of plant-based cooking, all done in an easy and accesible manner to inspire you to try more plant-based foods at home in your own kitchens.

Some of the incredibly tasty highlights include simple filo pastry filled with cheese and greens, a savoury tart of shallots, apples and Parmesan and fiery udon noodles with tomato and chillies.

5. Pardiz

If you love cookbooks that are as beautiful as they are mouth-watering, you are going to adore Pardiz by Manuela Darling-Gansser.

This book is in equal part recipe book as it is a memoir, taking the reader along on Darling-Gansser’s personal journey back to Iran, where she lived as a child, and sees her reconnect with a country that means so much to her.

The book then becomes a compilation of memories, stories and beautiful recipes that fits in perfectly with how trendy Persian food is at the moment, with special focus on vegetable-centric dishes.
