They say you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but it looks like that saying might also hold true for cakes.
The Zebra Cake – which is trending all over Pinterest and Instagram at the moment – look simple enough from the outside. I mean, it’s a cake, clearly, but there is no bells and whistles.
Until you cut it.
Because, as the name suggests, inside, this cake has earned its stripes (*cough…) and looks, indeed, pretty much like a zebra.
Bold, vertical stripes zig-zag their way through the centre of this delicious looking creating, and the best bit? it’s actually not all that hard to do.
