These are all the dates your child will be off school this year

The kids are officially back in school and while it's somewhat of a relief for parents, the big question on our minds – when is the next time they're off?

Many parents will already be planning holidays for when their children are off, and not to mention organising daycare for them while we're at work. So when is it happening? We've got a list below of every single date schools will be closed for the next academic year.

August/September 2023

End of August/Start of September: Primary and secondary schools have already started returning to the classroom but dates vary depending on schools. Most primary school students are returning this week, if they haven't already.

October 2023

Mid-term break: Monday, October 30th 2023 – Friday, November 3rd The last day of school before the break will be Friday, October 27th 2023 and they will reopen on Monday, November 6th 2023.

Christmas 2023

[caption id="attachment_433182" align="alignnone" width="2048"] Credit: Getty[/caption] Both primary and secondary schools will be closed from Monday, December 25th to Friday, January 5th 2024. The last day before Christmas break is Friday, December 22nd 2023 and will reopen on Monday, January 8th, 2024.

February 2024

Schools will close for St. Bridig's Day on Monday, February 5th, 2024. Midterm break for both primary and secondary schools will begin on Monday, February 12th until Friday, February 16th 2024. It is important to note that some primary schools may not use three discretionary days to extend this mid-term break and may only close for the 15th and 16th.
