Fans were not impressed with Hilary Duff over this.
Hilary Duff has responded to the backlash she was hit with after letting her toddler daughter travel in her car without a car seat.
The mum was criticised for letting her 3-year-old girl Banks ride in the car so dangerously.
She said she isn’t the only parent who has done this.
The actress and her co-star were driving in her car, but daughter Banks was sitting next to Duff’s co-star.
The Disney actress told Romper that the backlash was uncalled for.
“It’s not like I’m driving on the 405 with my kids in the back seat without a car seat.”
She continued: “You’re telling me you’ve never put your kids in the back seat to drive a block before with an adult back there? I’m like, ‘Happy new year to you, too’.”
This isn’t the first time Duff’s parenting choices have been slated.
The mum was previously called out for piercing her daughter Mae’s ears, but the former Disney Channel star isn’t letting the mum-shamers get to her.
She posted a photo of her daughter on Instagram and wrote, “Yes! I pierced her ears today. Can’t wait for the internet to call me a child abuser… again. Lesss go [sic].”Duff was targeted by trolls when she pierced daughter Banks’ ears when she was young.
Speaking about the onslaught of online abuse, the actress said: “I’m so used to dodging the comments or the judgment, you just get a tough skin.”
“You don’t realise how much it actually affects you.”
“I don’t comment on other people’s posts like that, so I don’t understand, but I guess it’s just a need for attention.”
“It’s hard not to take it personally,” she added.
