Laura Whitmore has opened up about becoming a mum.
Though the former Love Island host is known for keeping her private life out of the public eye, but now she has offered her fans a rare insight into how motherhood has changed her.
Speaking to Glamour Magazine, Laura credited her daughter with giving her a new perspective on life since she welcomed her back in 2021.
“It’s made me better,” explained the mother of one.
“The things I can get done before 9:00 am are honestly incredible. I’m quite impressed with myself. It’s made me value my time more.”
The 38-year-old said that many people told her how motherhood would stop her from doing things but she hasn’t let that stop her.
“I was 35 when I had her […] I definitely wasn’t ready when I was 25, but it is hard. But I’ve had so many voices in my head telling me I can’t do things.
“I mean, I think I’m the only person who slow-mo-walked into the Love Island while I was breastfeeding.”
Despite having a jam-packed schedule, Laura made sure to spend as much time as possible with her daughter.
“I had her with me every single step of the way. I think she’s the only baby – a real baby – to have been in the villa,” she said to the publication.
“But I wanted to do it because there’s a bit of me that I knew I couldn’t just be at home. If you like your job and you’re excited by it, you can do it.”
Now that Laura has called time on her Villa adventures, the mum of one has made a major career pivot.
Earlier this year she released a documentary with ITV, in which she reported on rough sex, cyber-stalking and incel culture. “I love talking to people and I love talking to people I don’t agree with,” she explained.
As part of her investigation, Laura interviewed a man called Dark Cell who wore a mask throughout the entire interview.
“It’s funny because these men are very confident online, but then he didn’t want to show his face. And actually, by the end of it, I felt sorry for him.”
This isn’t a once-off project for the star, as Laura said that she has more projects in the works, she just can’t speak about them yet.
