Parents are being warned about banned chemicals in fake Disney’s Elsa dolls

The dolls, made in China are said to be of high-risk to young kids due to the chemical used to soften plastic. Safety experts have warned that counterfeit copies are circulating of the best-selling toy, Snow Queen Elsa.

Other products were discovered which used production techniques that are normally banned and included costumes and fake merchandise from Disney’s ‘Minion’ films. Some were potentially hazardous while others were stamped with fake trademarks. Phthalates – barred in Europe since 1999 – have been linked to cancer, asthma, and other ailments.

The European Commission says putting Phthalates in a toddler’s mouth could pose a “serious health risk and harm the health of children… causing possible damage to the reproductive system.”

We say, be wary about where you buy your children’s toys and only buy them from a reputable store – even if they are more expensive. A child’s health is so much more important.
