This woman didn’t know she was going to be a mum until she was 8 months pregnant

A woman in California is preparing for the arrival of her first baby, after learning eight months into her pregnancy that she is expecting.

Just weeks away from giving birth, Abby Wake from California found out she was pregnant when her boyfriend, Jarryd Gorman, put his hand on her stomach and felt the baby kick when they were at a gig, according to CBS Los Angeles.

Explaining that she felt no symptoms, the mum-to-be said that she has always had irregular periods and put her bloated stomach down to being lactose intolerant. “There weren’t like kicks and huge movements. It was just like gurgles,” she said.

When Jarryd suspected that she might be pregnant, the couple visited Payman Joseph, an obstetrician-gynecologist in Van Nuys, who says that although Abby’s case is unique, it is more common than most people think.

An ultrasound scan confirmed the pregnancy and the soon-to-be parents are now holding a virtual baby shower to raise money for the new arrival.
