She was on birth control the whole time.

A woman went viral on TikTok recently when she shared that she didn’t know she was pregnant until she was 28 weeks because she was taking birth control the entire time.

The TikToker said she “knows that sounds insane”.

Myley J went on to say “I would always hear these stories and think, ‘How could someone be that dumb?’ This is how.”

Her TikTok video now has over 900k views, more than 400 comments, and over 330k likes. People are so interested.

Myley J said it wasn’t even a missed period that tipped her off or even the weight gain that led to the discovery of her pregnancy.

She went on to explain that she was recovering from an eating disorder, so the extra weight didn’t appear to be a pregnancy indicator.

She said: “Months went by, and I started getting turned away from donating blood plasma. My iron levels were suddenly super low. I was also waking up in the night with insane leg cramps.”

The TikToker shared that it was actually her mum that told her to take a pregnancy test.

Myley said, “I asked my mom if she would make a doctor’s appointment for me. She said, ‘Those symptoms sound like when I was pregnant.’

“I said, ‘Well that’s not it. I’m on birth control and haven’t had a period in six months.”

Myley went on to explain that her mother said she would make the doctor’s appointment for her if she took a pregnancy test first but she ended up taking many more than one test.

When they all came back positive, she went to Planned Parenthood.

She explained: “The nurse wrote down I was estimated to be 27 weeks based on my last period, but told me ‘Obviously that’s not right.’

“But she said ‘you’ll find out how far along you really are when you get an ultrasound.'”

The doctor’s ultrasound revealed Myley was around 28 weeks pregnant.

Comments on the video were pretty mixed with many people not understanding how she couldn’t tell she was pregnant.

One wrote: “How did you not feel your baby by then?”

Another said: “How don’t you know you were pregnant?”

But strangely, other people took to the comments with their similar stories.

One replied and said: “I found out I was pregnant 3 days after my husband passed away and my daughter was born a week later!”

Another one commented: “I didn’t know I was pregnant until I gave birth in the emergency room!!! I get it!! it’s insane!”

So, this seems much more common than we might have initially thought.

In a follow-up video, Myley posted she answered some of the burning questions people had and was pretty open and honest with everything.

She said she never smoked or drank so that wasn’t a problem and even though she drank lots of caffeine, her baby girl was perfectly healthy.
