Kids TV shows – or ‘Ten Minutes To Empty The Dishwasher Unsupervised’, as I like to call them – are designed in a specific way to hold our kid’s attention.
The colours are tremendously bright, the characters are strong and speak directly to the kids so they feel they are a part of the story and, most importantly, they have tonnes of music in them.
There have been nights when I am trying in vain to fall asleep and I catch my brain doing this;
“Bu..bu..bubble..guppy..guppy..guppy. Bubble, bubble, bubble, guppy, guppy, guppy..”
You other parents know what I’m talking about, right?

1. Bubble Guppies
This one just beats “What time is it? It’s lunchtime!” by a teeny tiny fish fin.

I dare you to ever see a bee again and not launch into “There’s a buzz, buzz, buzz in the meadow…” Impossible.
3. Sheriff Callie’s Wild West
She’s Callie, she’s the sheriff, you know. She has the badge right there on her chest. Yippee-ay-oh… *facepalm*
4. Paw Patrol
Whenever there’s a problem, that ten-year-old boy who has been left in charge of the welfare of the entire town will be there with his gang of crrrrrazy pupsters. Sounds reasonable.
5. Team Umizoomi
“Calling all Umi’s” WTF IS AN UMI?! Anyway, count on them to save the day, but not your sanity when you’re chanting ‘Milli! Geo! Bot and You!’ at 4am
6. Doc McStuffins
“This will only tickle a little..” Yes, in your ear drum and throughout your soul when you should be asleep.

This show is full to the brim of catchy tunes that will never leave you, but ‘There’s a party in my tummy – so yummy! so yummy!” wins hands-down for the one you will break out at the dinner table when you’re kids are all grown up and have left home.
