Hilariously honest school fundraiser letter goes viral

Katie Mythen-Lynch

From cake sales and sponsored walks to ‘voluntary’ contributions, the school year is jam-packed with fundraising events that take up almost as much time as they do money.

For moms and dads who don’t have time to whip up a tray of cupcakes on a Tuesday night, or tap friends, neighbours and family for donations on a sponsorship card, the fundraising process can quickly turn into a hassle… and a subsequent guilt-trip if you don’t get around to supporting it like you want to.

Mum Dee Wise shared a refreshingly honest letter from her child’s PTA online, where it quickly went viral.

The note struck a chord with many parents at the school, including Dee herself, who found the humour amusing.
